Scheduling / Labor
Labor is the most important factor when running a business or facility. Crew members are made up of full-time and part-time seasonal workers. Websites and programs like TaskTracker are helpful tools to organize, plan, and assign tasks. These programs also track labor hours which is important to help track budgeting.
Hiring / Retaining
Hiring full-time and seasonal workers can be difficult. The ability to attract and retain interns and other turf personnel are important. Websites such as turfnet and GCSAA allow us to post job applications which are catered to people looking for golf course jobs. Going to schools and job fairs. Sending interns and entry level assistants to educational seminars at local events or the national GCSAA events. Perks also include being able to volunteer for tournaments which allow individuals to gain more knowledge and network.

Networking is something that I love about this business. Whether it is going to play or just check out another course… Working at several clubs I have had the opportunity to work and meet many different people from a bunch of different backgrounds. Attending local events or the national GCSAA conference.
